ABLE has joined the International Industry Society in Advanced Rehabilitation Technology

ABLE Human Motion S.L. has joined the International Industry Society in Advanced Rehabilitation Technology (IISART)

IISART is dedicated to advance and promote modern healthcare technology in rehabilitation for the benefit of the patient and society at large.

IISART represents the interests of developers, manufacturers and marketers of medical devices and their accessories, active capital medical equipment, and services in the field of Rehabilitation Robotics, Virtual Rehabilitation and Therapeutic Electrical Stimulation.

Also, IISART is a co-organizer of Rehabweek, a week-long event that brings together different conferences in the field of rehabilitation technology at the same time and place in order to foster cross-disciplinary communication and the development of relationships between different players.

The idea of creating such an association emerged in 2009, during the 11th International Conference on Rehabilitation Robotics (ICORR) in Kyoto, where research and industry players encouraged the creation of an industrial association in the field of rehabilitation robotics. IISART was finally founded in 2011.

Since then, IISART has brought together key players in the field of rehabilitation robotics and exoskeleton technology.

To achieve its mission, IISART is structured in 5 working groups: Education, Promotion, RehabWeek, Standards and Health Economics. Each of these working groups works on specific topics, for instance: providing educational tools and science-based materials, providing a platform to IISART members to promote their products and benefits of rehabilitation technology, supporting the organization of Rehabweek, promote the elaboration of standards, and provide a platform to prompt the cost-benefits of rehabilitation technologies to care providers and key stakeholders.

“IISART is an association that connects all relevant stakeholders in the area of rehabilitation technology for the benefit of the patient and society. Being a member of IISART allows us to keep advancing towards our mission of enabling mobility for all, helping more people with physical disabilities to regain mobility and rehabilitate earlier with the ABLE Exoskeleton technology.” – Alfons Carnicero, CEO at ABLE Human Motion.
