01 Aug ABLE in La Cope’s radio program “La Linterna”
On July 23rd, Alex Garcia, one of the ABLE Human Motion’s co-founders, participated in La Cope radio program “La Linterna” with the journalist Ángel Expósito.
Alex talked about the beginnings of ABLE, how we went from being a research group at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya to an startup that has obtained more than 2 million euros of funding, a product successfully tested on 14 people with spinal cord injury and collaborations with renowned hospitals around the world.
He also commented that a clinical study with the exoskeleton will start in October in two reference hospitals, Institut Guttmann in Badalona and Heidelberg University Hospital (Germany). This study aims to demonstrate the safety and usability of the exoskeleton in a clinical setting, in order to later obtain CE certification as a medical device and start commercialization in Europe by the end of 2021.
