Toyota\u2019s \u201cStart Your Impossible\u201d story conveys the message that when you are free to move, anything is possible. Their mission, as ours, is to help people achieve freedom of movement all over the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Toyota Motor Europe, together with ISDI Accelerator, is seeking innovative solutions empowering people with mobility limitations to move around more freely and facilitating their daily life. In this regard, they launched the 1 st edition of <a href=\"https:\/\/accelerator.isdi.education\/toyotastartupawards\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Toyota Startup Awards (opens in a new tab)\">Toyota Startup Awards<\/a> to find the most innovative solutions. The challenge is focused on three verticals: social inclusive mobility, accessibility, and disruptive mobility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ablehumanmotion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/able-human-motion-toyota-awards-1-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-32095\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They received 195 applications from over 45 countries and selected 8 startups to pitch at the Finals, which was held in Attico Tarradellas in Barcelona on 25 February. ABLE Human Motion was selected as one of the 8 finalists, together with <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"4blind  (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/4blind.com\" target=\"_blank\">4blind <\/a>(Russia), <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Loro (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.loro.xyz\" target=\"_blank\">Loro<\/a> (US), <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"MotorSkins (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"http:\/\/www.motorskins.com\" target=\"_blank\">MotorSkins<\/a> (Germany), <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"ProsFit (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/prosfit.com\" target=\"_blank\">ProsFit<\/a> (Bulgaria), <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Seamless Vision (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"http:\/\/www.seamless-vision.com\" target=\"_blank\">Seamless Vision<\/a> (Israel), <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"SociAbility (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sociability.app\" target=\"_blank\">SociAbility<\/a> (UK) and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wheeliz.com\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Wheeliz  (opens in a new tab)\">Wheeliz <\/a> (France).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ablehumanmotion.com\/able-human-motion-team\/\">Alfons Carnicero<\/a> (ABLE Human Motion co-founder and CEO) together with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ablehumanmotion.com\/able-human-motion-team\/\">Ivan Camps<\/a> (ABLE\u2019s exoskeleton Pilot), presented our lightweight and easy-to-use exoskeleton, which aims to be a game-changer in medical exoskeleton industry, enabling a continuum of care for the assistance and rehabilitation of people with paraplegia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-gallery aligncenter columns-2 is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\"><li class=\"blocks-gallery-item\"><figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ablehumanmotion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/able-human-motion-toyota-awards-3-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" data-id=\"32096\" data-link=\"https:\/\/www.ablehumanmotion.com\/?attachment_id=32096\" class=\"wp-image-32096\"\/><\/figure><\/li><li class=\"blocks-gallery-item\"><figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ablehumanmotion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/able-human-motion-toyota-awards-4-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" data-id=\"32097\" data-link=\"https:\/\/www.ablehumanmotion.com\/?attachment_id=32097\" class=\"wp-image-32097\"\/><\/figure><\/li><li class=\"blocks-gallery-item\"><figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ablehumanmotion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/able-human-motion-toyota-awards-5-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" data-id=\"32098\" data-link=\"https:\/\/www.ablehumanmotion.com\/?attachment_id=32098\" class=\"wp-image-32098\"\/><\/figure><\/li><li class=\"blocks-gallery-item\"><figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ablehumanmotion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/able-human-motion-toyota-awards-6-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" data-id=\"32099\" data-link=\"https:\/\/www.ablehumanmotion.com\/?attachment_id=32099\" class=\"wp-image-32099\"\/><\/figure><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the event, we had the opportunity to listen to the inspirational stories of Ilaria Naef, WCMX (Wheelchair Motocross) athlete, and Birgit Skarstein, 3x Paralympian, 4x World Rowing Champion, Nordic Skiing World Cup Winner, who shared their experiences with the audience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-gallery aligncenter columns-2 is-cropped wp-block-gallery-2 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\"><li class=\"blocks-gallery-item\"><figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ablehumanmotion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/able-human-motion-toyota-awards-7-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" data-id=\"32100\" data-link=\"https:\/\/www.ablehumanmotion.com\/?attachment_id=32100\" class=\"wp-image-32100\"\/><\/figure><\/li><li class=\"blocks-gallery-item\"><figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ablehumanmotion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/able-human-motion-toyota-awards-8-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" data-id=\"32101\" data-link=\"https:\/\/www.ablehumanmotion.com\/?attachment_id=32101\" class=\"wp-image-32101\"\/><\/figure><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After the pitching session, Birgit Skarstein, who had a spinal cord injury in 2009 that prevents her from walking, challenged herself to use <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ablehumanmotion.com\/able-exoskeleton\/\">ABLE exoskeleton<\/a> for the first time. ABLE Human Motion received a special mention and has also been granted access to the Toyota Accelerator Program. Over 3,000 people participated in public voting, after which an expert jury composed of both Toyota executives and ISDI Accelerator took the final decision.
