Antonio Rodríguez Fernández, miembro del equipo de ABLE Human Motion, completó su doctorado. titulado: “Evaluación clínica hacia el desarrollo de un exoesqueleto portátil para miembros inferiores para personas con lesión medular espinal: de la biomecánica de la marcha al aprendizaje motor”.

Esta tesis comenzó en 2019 en el Laboratorio BIOMEC del Centro de Investigación de Ingeniería Biomédica, en línea con el sueño de ABLE Human Motion de facilitar la movilidad a todo el mundo. Cuatro años después, el sueño se ha hecho realidad con el desarrollo de un exoesqueleto portátil para miembros inferiores para rehabilitación de la marcha de personas con lesión medular.

En esta tesis se presentan algunos de los conocimientos y aprendizajes que han llevado al desarrollo del Exoesqueleto ABLE, además de aportar valiosas ideas a tener en cuenta para el crecimiento de la terapia robótica de la marcha.

Antonio seguirá colaborando con ABLE Human Motion a través del proyecto ABLE Daily Exo: La próxima generación de exoesqueletos robóticos inteligentes para ayudar a personas con discapacidad en actividades de la vida cotidiana, en el que colaboramos con la UPC.
