McKinsey Global Institute ha identificado las diez innovaciones que se espera que tengan un impacto crítico en la salud antes del año 2040 como parte del estudio Prioritizing health: A prescription for prosperity.
El estudio se centra en tecnologías que abordan las mayores necesidades insatisfechas. El impacto de estas innovaciones se ha determinado entrevistando a expertos y evaluando el conocimiento biológico actual de cada enfermedad, así como el esfuerzo y entusiasmo que rodean las nuevas técnicas.
