ABLE Human Motion is a medical device company that develops cutting-edge exoskeleton technology to improve the mobility, health, and quality of life of people with disabilities.

Headquartered in Barcelona, our team designs, manufactures, sells, and maintains our products for customers across the European Union.

Our Values

Our Facilities

We are hosted in Parc Tecnològic Barcelona Activa, a 10,000 m2 Business Park for tech companies located in Barcelona. Our facilities include:

  • Fully equipped R&D workshop to build mechatronic prototypes using multiple fungible materials.
  • Production Area with high-tech equipment and quality control systems to assemble and repair our exoskeletons.
  • Laboratory equipment to capture objective data during testing sessions of the exoskeleton.
  • A new office space with multiple meeting rooms, and coffee break, lunch, chill and outdoor areas.

Our history

 

ABLE Human Motion was founded in October 2018 by 2 engineering classmates (Alfons Carnicero and Alex Garcia) and a professor of mechanical engineering (Josep M. Font) that aimed to help people with mobility impairments through game-changing technology. The company is a spin-off of Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), created after several years of research and development by the Biomechanical Engineering Lab. Here’s a summary of our story:
