29 Mar ABLE at MWC 2023 Barcelona
27 February – 2 March Mobile World Congress 2023 (MWC2023) took place in Barcelona, Spain. MWC Barcelona is the world’s largest and most influential connectivity event where leaders gather to discuss the future of technology that will shape the industry and society.
ABLE Human Motion was part of the “Journey to the Future” exhibition. We shared our booth “The Next Hospital” with the most advanced healthcare companies. During the four days of the exhibition, we demonstrated the capabilities of our new exoskeleton and gave numerous interviews.
Our booth was visited by hundreds of people and one of them was very special. On the first day of the exhibition MWC2023 The King of Spain, Felipe VI, came to our booth and played ping-pong with our pilot Ricard, while he was standing with the ABLE Exoskeleton. He was accompanied by Nadia Calviño, Vice President of the Spanish Government and Minister of Economic Affairs. It was an unforgettable moment for Ricard and the ABLE team!

We were excited and surprised by a large amount of press visiting our booth. Media from all over the world took pictures and interviewed the team about our exoskeleton. Our pilot Ricard was the star of the show and gave interviews to everyone while walking with the exoskeleton.

Dr. Antonio De Lacy, Director of the Lacy Surgical Institute, Head of the Gastrointestinal Surgery Service of the Hospital Clínic de Barcelona left his expert opinion about our ABLE Exoskeleton:
“ABLE Human Motion is the best… It is a company from Barcelona with the lightest and cheapest exoskeleton on the market.” Dr Antonio de Lacy.
But it wasn’t just health experts who highlighted our ABLE Exoskeleton. Yanko Design, an online magazine dedicated to covering the best international product design, included us in the list of Best of MWC 2023 and gave us an award, along with corporations such as Honor and HTC.
On the second day of the exhibition, we took part in the Pitch2Pitch battle of the best technology startups at MWC2023. This is a competition organized by Mobile World Live, where 12 finalists were selected among hundreds of projects. ABLE Human Motion was one of them. Our presentation was shown on all the screens of the exhibition and the judges of the competition marked our project as important and socially meaningful. It was magical to see our exoskeleton displayed on the large screens.
It is hard to believe the results of our pilot Ricard walking with the exoskeleton during the Mobile World Congress. With only four days, Ricard walked…
22,400 steps, 7 km covered, 22h standing and 10h walking.

It is difficult to summarize our team’s feelings, experiences, and impressions during MWC2023 in one single article. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who participated in the event’s planning and execution. And all the people, organizations and investors who are supporting us throughout this amazing journey. We owe a big round of applause to the entire ABLE team, who worked hard to create this ground-breaking product, the ABLE Exoskeleton. A special thanks go out to our pilot Ricard Hernandez. For demonstrating the device during the entire week and being the best representative we could imagine.
Four unforgettable days at MWC23. We met new people, learned new things, made new friends, worked together, and gained invaluable experience. We are thrilled to have participated in the Mobile World Congress, which inspires and motivates us to reach new limits and carry on with our goal of making exoskeleton technology available to everyone.
Thank you MWC 2023, we will meet again soon!
