ABLE Exoskeleton is Approved for New Indications: Multiple Sclerosis and Neuromuscular Disorders

We’re thrilled to announce a major milestone in our mission to democratize access to robotics in rehabilitation. The ABLE Exoskeleton is now officially approved for use with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and Neuromuscular Disorders.

After getting CE Mark certification under MDR a year ago and commencing initial sales, this new approval represents a major achievement for the company. This regulatory expansion makes ABLE Exoskeleton a more versatile, efficient, and inclusive solution for gait rehabilitation, expanding the clinical impact and benefiting a wider spectrum of patients.

What’s New?

Until now, the ABLE Exoskeleton has been approved for individuals with spinal cord injury (SCI). With this latest update, the device can now also be used with new pathologies:

🔹 Multiple Sclerosis (MS)

Approved for patients with scores of up to 8.5 on the Extended Disability Status Scale (EDSS). This enables clinicians to:

  • Treat patients across the full MS spectrum, from early mobility issues to advanced disability
  • Provide upright mobility and dynamic gait training

🔹 Neuromuscular Disorders that Impair Gait

Including progressive or inherited conditions such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), spinal muscular atrophy, muscular dystrophies, motor neuron disorders, and hereditary neuropathies. With ABLE Exoskeleton, clinics can:

  • Offer safe, repetitive gait therapy to patients with varied functional capacity
  • Address early gait decline with targeted robotic intervention
  • Reduce therapist exertion while maximizing therapy intensity

One Device, Multiple Possibilities

This approval means that with a single exoskeleton, therapists can now treat:

  • Spinal Cord Injury
  • Multiple Sclerosis
  • Neuromuscular Disorders

There’s no need for hardware changes; the same ABLE Exoskeleton can be used. What’s needed is simply adapting clinical protocols and patient selection according to the new indications.
