Imagine a personal exoskeleton assisting you to walk, a device that can be integrated into your daily routine, not just within the clinical setting. We’re launching a new clinical study to evaluate the ABLE Daily*, our latest exoskeleton designed to promote physical activity at home and in the community to enhance general well-being and quality of life for the user, and we’re looking for Dutch participants!
About the Study
In collaboration with the renowned Sint Maartenskliniek Hospital in the Netherlands, this study aims to assess the safety and usability of the ABLE Daily exoskeleton for individuals with spinal cord injury (SCI) in home and community environments over a 12-week period.
After a training period in the hospital, participants will take the exoskeleton home, giving them the possibility to stand upright, walk and enhance social interactions such as eye-level conversations.
Who Can Participate?
We’re seeking adults with a spinal cord injury (SCI) who:
- Meet medical inclusion criteria (contact us for more info)
- Has not been in a hospital outside of the Netherlands
- Dutch resident
- Able to start as soon as possible
- Participate in at least 9 training sessions on site at Sint Maartenskliniek in Nijmegen.
- Have at least 1 companion who can assist and manage the device during use
- The companion needs to attend a minimum of 2 training sessions
- Willing to commit to using the exoskeleton at home for 12 weeks
- Want to contribute to innovative assistive technology research
Where?
The study will be conducted at the Sint Maartenskliniek, a leading hospital for rehabilitation and research. The center is located in Nijmegen in the Netherlands, where the training sessions will take place.
